supportive and friendly, fully equipped ceramic studio.
Channel your inner
‘Great Pottery Throw Down’
with a session at Picts Hill Studios
There are 4 types of vouchers available;
A £30 card gives you access to our Tuesday drop-in studio sessions, where technical
support and materials are provided. You can hand-build a piece from our wide range of
guided projects, work on your own ideas, or practise your throwing skills on one of our
wheels. This package also includes firing and a single glaze, which can be applied for
you. Your finished piece will be ready for collection in approximately three weeks to allow
for drying time and firing.
A £40 card gives a 2 hour 1-1 throwing lesson, whether a beginner or in need of a
refresher course, our studio expert will guide you through the process. Your piece(s) will
be fired and singled glazed and ready for collection in approximately three weeks.
A £45 card gives you access to a 3-hour structured workshop, usually held on the last
Tuesday of each month. In these sessions, you’ll create seasonal, themed pieces while
learning (or practising) core hand-building techniques such as pinch pots, coiling, and
slab building. Your finished piece will be fired and single-glazed, and will be ready for
collection in approximately three weeks.
A £85 card for an Atmospheric Firing Experience. In this hands-on 6 hour session you
explore the raku process, glazing and firing 2 pieces in the gas kiln and the smoke firing
process preparing another 2 pieces in organic combustibles before placing in the wood
fire.
You will be able to take away your 4 pieces on the day.
